About Our Office
Our office provides a unique interdisciplinary approach to the treatment of snoring and Sleep Apnea. I find that many patients have multiple options when considering treatment. A physician must be realistic when choosing a treatment plan that fits the lifestyle and needs of their patient. When CPAP is the best option, the selection of the appropriate equipment and proper mask type can make all the difference in the world. These decisions are not left to the equipment companies that provide them to you. They could have financial considerations affecting their decision.
We follow our patients after treatment to ensure proper fit and success of their oral appliance. Likewise, we see our CPAP patients biannually to ensure an adequate seal of their CPAP mask and control of apnea. Sleep Apnea treatment is not a sideline business, it is our business.
In order to get the best results, some of our oral appliance patients are tested with the Matrix sleep study. This is a device that is placed in your mouth while you are sleep in one of our overnight sleep rooms. The respiratory therapist will advance the jaw to determine the optimum position to control the sleep apnea. We then take this measurement and apply it to the oral appliance.
Surgery is generally not a good option for Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I have performed hundreds of such surgeries in the past but now feel it is limited to only it very special conditions. If you are considering surgery, you owe it to yourself to get a second opinion with me.
The office also has a certified Sleep facility, providing our patients with 6 individually unique sleeping quarters supervised by Certified Respiratory Technicians.
